| About the Sebastiani Fencing Academy |
At the Sebastiani Fencing Academy, we teach beginners to advanced as well as competitive fencers. Instruction is available in all weapons: Foil, Epee, and Sabre for children (5 years and older), teens and adults of all ages.
Classes run from September to June every year, with intensive training camps (for competitors) and Little Musketeers camps (5-7 years old) held during the summer. Enrollment is ongoing and course tuition is based based upon a student’s start date.
The Sebastiani Fencing Academy Method:
Because of Master Sebastiani’s reputation for excellence, competitive fencers travel from all over to learn from him and his instructors. Students at the Sebastiani Fencing Academy study and practice the traditional method of the French School of Fencing, which is practiced at the highest level of competition all over the world. Students at the Academy, whether beginner, intermediate or advanced, develop skills and techniques that afford them the opportunity to become their personal best with the help of some of the best instructors from the world of fencing.
The Sebastiani Fencing Academy Program for each class runs for at least a year. To move up to a superior level class, each fencer has the opportunity to demonstrate his/her technical ability by completing two skills tests administered at the completion of each semester by Master Sebastiani and Academy Instructors. To encourage students to master fencing, Academy members may also participate in Club Championship competitions held at various times throughout the year.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE 3 WEAPONS ?
Foil — a light thrusting weapon; the valid target is restricted to the torso, the chest, shoulders, and back; double touches are not allowed (see priority rules below). This weapon follows the rule of "right of way"
Épée — a heavy thrusting weapon; the valid target area covers the entire body; double touches are allowed. There is no "right of way"
Sabre — a light cutting and thrusting weapon; the valid target area is the saddle line, which is from one side of your hip to the other and up, this also includes the head. The target area does not include the hands. This weapon follows "right of way"
